Renovation work completed: 60 km of trails ready

After a period of intensive renovation and maintenance work, the Burgraviato cycle paths are ready to welcome cyclists and enthusiasts for the new season. These interventions have affected about 60 kilometres of routes, improving the quality and safety of the infrastructure dedicated to sustainable mobility.

Significant interventions for a renewed bicycle network

In recent months, the Burgraviato District Community has carried out extraordinary maintenance work on the supra-municipal cycle paths. Among the most significant works was the renewal of the Lazago cycle bridge, a key infrastructure for the continuity of the route. In addition, several sections of the track were resurfaced, improving safety and comfort for cyclists.

Network expansion and satisfaction survey

In addition to maintenance work, the District Community is working on expanding the cycle network, with the aim of further connecting the various localities in the district and promoting sustainable mobility. To evaluate the effectiveness of the initiatives undertaken and collect useful feedback, a satisfaction survey is planned for 2025, which will involve users of the cycle paths. The feedback gathered will be valuable for planning future actions and ensuring that the paths meet the expectations of those who use them on a daily basis.

Increased funding for cycle path maintenance

The Provincial Council recognised the importance of cycle paths as a tourist attraction and sustainable mobility infrastructure and increased the funds allocated for their maintenance. In 2024, 500,000 euros were allocated for the maintenance of the 514 kilometres of cycle paths in South Tyrol, an increase over the previous 350,000 euros. Of this, EUR 55,341.85 was allocated to Burgraviato, based on the length of the supra-municipal cycle paths in the region.(*)

Invitation to respect the rules for shared safety

With the reopening of the cycle paths, the local authorities urge all users to observe the rules of behaviour to ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrians. It is essential to maintain an appropriate speed, to signal manoeuvres in good time and to pay attention to other road users.
