The Challenge:

Round is a portable mobile phone charging table, designed for catering and hospitality businesses (Horeca)
Two peculiarities distinguish it from other competing products: the fact of being a standalone device, and the fact of being completely wireless.
This makes it easily transportable in different environments, thanks also to the wheels it is equipped with.
The need to build a product with a low initial investment led us to search for components already on the market (off-the-shelf).
The structure with which it is built is the famous Tam Tam stool designed by Henri Massonet in 1968 and available in different colors.
This made it possible to avoid the construction of a plastic injection mold.
A laser-cut metal bottom forms the base on which the AGM battery and casters are attached.
This construction gives it a low center of gravity and, consequently, high stability even when moved on its own wheels.
The unit is equipped with two USB ports with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 ™, a 10W Qi fast wireless charging unit and a ring consisting of 16 RGB LEDs and a buzzer as a user interface.
It is possible to control the unit and check the battery charging status remotely via Wi-Fi. A function particularly appreciated for customers who have to manage dozens of portable tables.
